A little about the M family....

First of all, I wanted to let everyone know a little about Darrell and I. We have been married for a year and 3 months and everything has been great.

Darrell and I have been working as much and as often as possible lately. Darrell is currently working at Dick's Sporting Goods in the mall near our apartment and has a second job at Chili's right outside the mall. He works long and hard for this family and we (me and our 3 dogs) really appreciate all he does. He is currently applying for a job with the Police Department and is looking for any type of architecture jobs in the meantime. Right now I am working at Banana Republic inside the mall waiting to start my new job. I just got a job at a middle school near by teaching 7th grade Math. I am so excited and cannot wait for it all to start.

We have 3 dogs and they are all doing well. Beside the fact that Peanut had a Urinary Tract Infection this week. She is doing a lot better. They are all getting so big and they are all so smart. Kol our 4 year old (he will be 5 in September) is the leader of the pack and is such a good dog. He is also a very pretty dog. He is a mix between a black lab and a whippet (it is a small greyhound). He is very lean and muscular and weighs about 65 pounds right now. He is also very fast and love to chase bunnies and squirrels. On February 8, 2007, Darrell and I went to the SPCA to go look at the dogs and play with them. We found a litter of 10 puppies that were the cutest puppies we had ever seen. I wanted a little girl (I have never had my own dog and I wanted her so bad) and he wanted this little boy from that litter. So we got them both. We went from one dog to three. They are chocolate lab/German Shepard mixes. They are so cute. They look more like chocolate labs more than anything. The boy's name is Chewy and the little girl's name is Peanut. Well, I guess they are really not that little because at a year and half Chewy weighs over 70 pounds and Peanut weighs 57 pounds. They are our babies. Pictures to come.

I graduated in December 2007 with a BA in Psychology. I just finished my teacher certification and passed my 4-8 Generalist exam. I have to take a couple more during my first year of teaching but by the end of my first school year I will be a certified teacher. What's nice about the school district I will be working for is that they offer to pay for your masters (if you want to get it) and all they require is that you work with the school district for two years. Plus they have day care for their teachers that is about half the price for regular daycare and it comes right out of your check each month. If we have kids and I need to work this will come in handy.

Darrell got his Bachelors about 4 years ago in Art History with a minor in Biology and Spanish. He just got two architecture certificates for the college near by. He wants to go to grad school for architecture sometime in the future. He is a great artist, designer, and decorator. He really has an act for this.

Other than working, taking care of our babies (our 3 dogs), and trying to find time to spend together life has been kind of crazy for us. It helps us stay on our toes.
